Venice Beach & Santa Monica Pier

One more time trip to Los Angeles, and this time my brother flew there from Finland to meet us. We spent 6 days in LA, and our first hotel was in Beverly Hills and then in West Hollywood. With him I went to Venice Beach Boardwalk and Santa Monica Pier again, but luckily I had already taken almost all the possible photos so I didn't need to spend a lot of time for that this time. We spent 10 bucks for the sky wheel, in which you apparently could have spent as much time as you wanted to for that price. After few rounds we realized we might need to tell them when we are done, so then we were trying to casually wave for another 2 rounds to show we're ready to go. No more LA for me at least for the rest of the year!

VENICE BEACH PART 1

I got a chance to go to Los Angeles again sooner than I thought I would, since Jake had a work trip there last weekend. Our hotel was close to Venice Beach, so we went for a walk right after arriving to the hotel. It was just about to get dark, so we had like half an hour before the sunset. The sky had weird fog or clouds that almost looked like a smoke, but I don't know what kind of smoke it would have been, since it had some nice colors in it too. I'm sure it's obvious the sky wasn't as pink as I managed to make it to look like, but my photo editing skills are not that advanced that I could add pink color to the sky out of nowhere either... So there really was this light pink/violet colors, and I just added a lot of contrast and made those colors much brighter. If there is a filter that would make a normal sky to look pink though, I'd love to get it... 

I went back to Venice Beach the next morning when Jake went to work, so here are pictures from two different days. I took a lot more pictures though, but I didn't want to spam one post with like 50 pictures, so I will do at least one more post from Venice area. I walked around on that day until it got dark again, so later you'll find out where else I went on this quick weekend trip to Los Angeles. And as I told on my previous post, I want to try to do travel vlogging too, so there is some video material I'm going to edit as soon as I can, and will upload to Youtube. Stay tuned!

Päätin taas lähteä Jaken työreissulle mukaan, kun kohdalle osui hyvän hintaiset lennot. Hotellimme oli lähellä Venice Beachiä, joten lähdimme sinne käppäilemään ruuan etsimisen merkeissä heti hotellille saavuttuamme. Kello sattui olemaan vähän vajaa viisi, eli olimme siellä juuri sopivasti ennen auringonlaskua. Taivaalla oli todella erikoinen sumu tai pilviä, en tiedä kumpi, mutta se näytti ennemminkin savulta joka oli myös erikoisen väristä. En tosin tiedä mistä sinne savua olisi ilmestynyt. Jokainen varmaan huomaa ettei pilvet kuitenkaan ihan niin pinkkejä olleet kuin miltä ne näissä muokatuissa kuvissa näyttää, korostin värejä paljon. En kuitenkaan ole ihan niin taitava kuvanmuokkaaja, että osaisin tyhjästä lisätä pinkkiä väriä, joten siellä taustalla oli oltava jokin vaaleanpunaiseen/violettiin taittava sävy. Ei se luonnossa kuitenkaan yhtä voimakas ollut, vaikkakin kivan näköinen silti. Mielelläni hommaisin filtterin jolla saisi normaali oloissakin taivaan tuon väriseksi... 

Lähdin itse seuraavana aamuna takaisin rannalle kävelemään kun Jake lähti töihin, joten tässä on sekaisin kuvia kahdelta eri päivältä. Kuvasin kuitenkin niin paljon etten viitsinyt niitä kaikkia yhteen postaukseen läväyttää, joten Venice Beachiltä on lisää kuvia vielä tulossa. Kävelin tuona päivänä taas siihen asti kun tuli pimeää, joten myöhemmin tulossa lisää myös muista kohteista ja nähtävyyksistä mitä kävin katsomassa! Yritin myös ottaa videomatskua, ja koitan tässä samalla postausten lomassa väsätä ensimmäisen oikean matkavlogi videoni, jonka lisään Youtubeen.
