red light district

Well, this isn't the actual red light district, since girls were not allowed to go there. Not that I would have wanted to, but I just didn't know how else to describe this area around the actual district. So, I went to Germany for couple of shows my friends had there, and the other one of them was in Hamburg. My hotel was on this street because the venue was there as well, and I hadn't done any background check before booking it, so this came as a surprise. I can't really tell I enjoyed the nightlife there though, since all the restaurants were strip clubs where girls were not allowed to go either. So what else to do then, than to take pictures of them. They looked kinda cool anyway, and not something I expected to find on my trip to Europe. As I told in my earlier posts, I haven't had huge interest to travel around Europe since every city seems to be exactly the same, so this was a nice change. As everyone who follows my social media has probably noticed, I like to take pictures of all different kinds of signs, neon lights and street art, so this was a cool place for me even I don't know how appropriate it is to photograph sex tourism like this. There was also a Christmas market between my hotel and the venue which I was of course excited about, and later I found out it was an adult friendly market which was funny. I visited couple of other xmas markets too in Hamburg and Berlin, so I'm going to do an actual post of all those 3 later.

Lähdin pariksi päiväksi Saksaan kavereiden bändin keikalle, ja toinen keikoista oli Hampurissa. Euroopassa melko vähän matkustaneena en tiennyt Hampurin seksiturismista, ja tuli yllätyksenä kun hotellini olikin keskellä punaisten lyhtyjen katua. Tai ei se itseasiassa ollut punaisten lyhtyjen kadulla, sillä se katu oli rajattu ja pääsy oli sallittu vain miehille. Näillä sanoin nyt kuitenkin kuvailisin myös tätä kiellettyä katua ympäröivää aluetta. Itseäni asia ei millään tavalla haitannut, lähinnä huvitti. Olin ensiksi innoissani hotellin edustalla olevista joulumarkkinoista, mutta sinne mennessäni huomasin myös sen olevan aikuisystävällinen, eikä niinkään perinteinen joulutori. Tällä reissulla tuli käytyä kolmet eri joulumarkkinat läpi, joten teen niistä vielä erillisen postauksen. Aiemmin valittelin sitä kuinka Euroopan kaikki kaupungit ovat samanlaisia, eikä torit, kaupungintalot ja kirkot eroa toisistaan mitenkään. Pääsinkin nyt näkemään vähän erilaista Eurooppaa, joka oli itselleni mielenkiintoisempaa, sillä olen tunnetusti kova kuvaamaan vähän erilaisia kohteita, ja vahvana teemana ovat aina liikennemerkit, kaikki mahdolliset muutkin kyltit, ja retrohenkiset rakennukset. Tulipahan vähän kulttuurin tuntemusta. Joulutoreista tulee lisää myöhemmin!
